For many dogs, New Year’s Eve is the hardest night of the year. The noise can come without warning, and a dog may shake, pant or look for somewhere to hide. NyttårsRo includes two pieces: a compression vest that applies gentle, even pressure around the body, and a soft, close-fitting hood that covers the ears and may help muffle surrounding noise.
Two pieces designed to work together
- The compression vest fits closely around the chest and belly and fastens with hook-and-loop straps. Some dogs may settle more easily with firm, even pressure around the body.
- The soft hood is close-fitting and flexible. It goes over the head, covers both ears and fastens under the chin with a hook-and-loop strap.
The collar that becomes a hood
The vest has a high rib-knit collar. Normally, it sits like a warm neck covering. During louder moments, you can pull it over the head so it covers the ears and back of the head while leaving the face clear. To use the separate soft hood at the same time, fold the vest collar down.

Tip: Introduce your dog to the vest and hood a few days before New Year’s Eve, using treats and calm, positive sessions. This helps your dog become familiar with the gear before the noise starts. Find the right size
Measure the chest at its widest point just behind the front legs, and measure the head circumference around the head over the ears. Weight is only a guide; the measurements determine the fit. If your dog is between sizes, choose the larger size.

Can my dog wear both pieces at the same time?
Yes. Fold the vest collar down and place the soft hood over the ears. The vest then sits around the body while the separate hood covers the head.
How long can my dog wear the vest?
Use it when needed, such as during an evening with fireworks, and remove it once things have settled. Do not leave your dog wearing it unsupervised for extended periods.
Does it help every dog?
Dogs respond differently. Some may settle more easily with even pressure and reduced surrounding noise, but no vest or hood removes fear completely. Gradual introduction before use is important.
Does it fit small dogs?
The smallest soft hood fits a head circumference from approximately 25 cm. The set therefore starts at size S, for dogs from approximately 5 kg.
